On the eve of the 127th Durham miners gala
the Durham NUM welcomed two of the 33
rescued Chilean miners to Durham NUM
headquarters at redhills.
The two miners Carlos Barrios Contrera and
Carlos Bugueno Alfara
where invited to attend
the reception as guests of honor in light of their
two month ordeal back in 2010 where the two
miners and workmates where trapped inside
the Copiapo mine.
The event at redhills Durham had guest speakers from the North East NUM giving thanks for their safe return and appreciation of the hard work in extremely tuff conditions, the event highlighted some of the safety concerns the NUM have with mines outside the UK and the speakers provided assurances of assistance with improving safety for miners outside the UK.
Executive catering services where asked to provide the catering for the event at redhills and a
mobile bar.
The food requirements consisted of
finger food and our
fork buffet mixed with a range of
platters.
